Anger

Anger

Secular Definition:   From Wikipedia, Anger is an emotion. The physical effects of anger include increased heart rate, blood pressure, and levels of adrenaline and noradrenaline.  Some view anger as part of the fight or flight brain response to the perceived threat of harm.  Anger becomes the predominant feeling behaviorally, cognitively, and physiologically when a person makes the conscious choice to take action to immediately stop the threatening behavior of another outside force.

Webster’s Dictionary says this: Anger is a strong feeling of displeasure and usually of antagonism.

While we all certainly get angry at times, there is a problem when anger becomes uncontrollable.  There is no question that the emotion of anger is not always spiritual and scriptures show us God and Jesus got angry at times.  When it is a problem is when the anger is uncontrollable, and can be seen as signs of rage.

The Word of God also teaches us that we should not continue to keep anger against others, because this gives the enemy a foothold in our lives. (Eph 4:27).

People suffering from a demonic stronghold of anger will say they sometimes “snap” and cannot control themselves when it happens.  Or others say they don’t want to get angry, but just cannot help it, and feel angry “all the time”.  These are the warning signs of a spirit of anger operating in your life.

In the Word of God:

"So the Lord's anger was aroused against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation that had done evil in the sight of the Lord was gone” (Numbers 32:13).

"‘In your anger do not sin’: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold” (Ephesians 4:26-27 NIV).

"You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are all around you (for the Lord your God is a jealous God among you), lest the anger of the Lord your God be aroused against you and destroy you from the face of the earth”  (Deuteronomy 6:14-15).

"And the patriarchs, becoming envious, sold Joseph into Egypt. But God was with him 10 and delivered him out of all his troubles, and gave him favor and wisdom in the presence of Pharaoh, king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house” (Acts 7:9-10).

Jealousy is jealous resentment against a rival, a person enjoying success or advantage, etc., or against another's success or advantage itself.  Mental uneasiness from suspicion or fear of rivalry, unfaithfulness, etc., as in love or aims.  Vigilance in maintaining or guarding something.

Jealousy is the ruling spirit or also known as the “stronghold.”  It controls and dictates other spirits such as impatience, bitterness, strife, covetousness, control (Jezebel), revenge, retaliation, wrath, suspicion, Anger, rage, hatred, murder, violence, restlessness & selfishness to operate in peoples’ lives.
