Lust
Lust
Secular Definition: From Wikipedia, Lust is an inordinate craving for sexual intercourse often to the point of assuming a self-indulgent, and sometimes violent character.
Webster’s Dictionary says this: Lust is intense or unbridled sexual desire.
In these secular definitions, we can see that Lust is not merely a matter of a passing thought but instead an intense craving and desire for things sexual. We must use the helmet of salvation to take our own thoughts captive by the Spirit of God, for if we give ourselves over to the flesh, then our thoughts become desires, and when they become desires, we have given ourselves over to sin.
In the Word of God:
“But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart” (Matthew 5:28).
“For all that is in the world — the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life — is not of the Father but is of the world” (1 John 2:16).
Lust is not of God, but is of this world and the enemy. Starting in our minds, these lustful thoughts are also a pathway to further perversions not only in the mind, but with the flesh. For our lustful desires cannot be satisfied, but will continually increase to more depraved thoughts and actions as a result of satan’s desire to make perverse all things good that are of God.
Perversion is a practice or act, especially one that is sexual in nature, considered abnormal or deviant. "Action of turning aside from truth, corruption or distortion," (originally of religious beliefs) from pervert. Psychological sense of "disorder of sexual behavior in which satisfaction is sought through channels other than those of normal heterosexual intercourse" originally including homosexuality. Any of various means of obtaining sexual gratification that are generally regarded as being abnormal.
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth” (2 Tim 3:1-7).
Perversion is the ruling spirit or also known as the “stronghold.” It controls and dictates other spirits such as word twisting, Lust, lesbianism, homosexuality, masturbation, bestiality, child molestation, incest, exhibitionism, pornography, seducing spirit, sensual thoughts and sodomy (which includes oral copulation) to control peoples’ lives.
